Ode to the Library

Ode to the library

Whereas a child I often tarried

Through dust stacks

Magazine racks

And card catalogues

Till my head was in a fog

The smell of musty books

The sneezing from the dusty nooks

The library has more than reading

There are programs and book clubs for your conveyance

Dvd’s, Music magazine apps

Even e readers for those who lack

One of their own the digital age

I just hope the books are to stay

I’d cry if the library went away
